How it Started

In my younger years, I was a picky eater, only willing to eat a handful of very specific meals but as I got older my appreciation for food grew and that’s really where my food journey started. As I got older, I became interested in cooking and began cooking with my mom at home and discovered the Food Network Channel. Through watching and listening to chefs all around the globe and in my families kitchens, I began to learn techniques, flavours, and the history of food from all over the world. My new found passion led me to making and creating a variety of meals, snacks, and sauces - most importantly our Original Sauce. I was encouraged to keep making, experimenting and eventually to sell my sauces by my family and friends who knew that others would love my barbecue sauces as much as they did. Now I’m a home cook with a deep love and appreciation of food and feel great enjoyment when sharing good food with family and friends.

The Standing Bear Sauces team hopes that the love and appreciation for food and creativity are what people take away from our sauce and that it is found wherever good food is made.
